Traveling is amazing. You step off the plane, take a deep breath of new air, look around, and think, “Alright, I’m a world-class explorer now!” 🏕️🌎 And then… my style of traveling begins.
Everything goes smoothly until I see something beautiful. It could be a skyscraper, an exotic tree, or just a really stylish street cat 🐈⬛. At that moment, I forget about everything. The world ceases to exist except for my object of admiration. Camera in hand—time to take a picture! The key is to find the perfect angle. The fact that I might be standing in the middle of the road or sitting on someone’s moped only occurs to me when I notice the confused stares of the locals 😅.
Speaking of locals—they always seem to sense my “tourist with adventures” energy. For example, in one city, someone immediately asked me, “Are you lost?” Well… no. But for some reason, people always seem to know that things will get interesting with me around.
Food is another legendary chapter of my travels. Every time, I confidently order something local, inspired by travel bloggers. But about half the time, it ends in tears. Sometimes from spiciness 🌶️🔥, sometimes from the realization that I just ate something with eyes, a tail, and possibly a life story. And sometimes, I just have no idea how to eat it. Once, I got a dish—chopsticks didn’t work, a fork didn’t help, and eating with my hands felt awkward. While I was struggling, the locals were already eating, laughing, and probably placing bets on whether I’d figure it out or not.
Then there’s transportation. Sure, I can use maps, but sometimes maps have questions for me. For example, in Kuala Lumpur, my GPS told me, “Walk 100 meters and turn right.” Easy! So I walk… and end up in front of a six-lane highway with no crosswalk. Okay, maybe there’s a bridge? Nope. An underground passage? Also no. How do people get across? Turns out… they don’t. They drive! But I was already committed! So after 10 minutes of observing the locals, I figured out how to cross the road in “if you make it, you’re a legend” mode 😬.
But the funniest part? At the end of every trip, I always think, “Well, now I’m an experienced traveler! Next time, everything will go perfectly!” And then a new city, a new country—and a new story about how I accidentally ended up at someone’s wedding, got on the wrong bus, or somehow got a job when I was just asking for directions.
But isn’t that the fun of it? Traveling should come with surprises! The key is to keep your sense of humor, smile at the locals, and never sit on someone else’s moped without asking 🛵😂.
